You may not know this, but I’ve always been one to celebrate the heck out of a holiday. On Columbus day I fashion myself a skiff and make for the horizon in search of the “new” new world. On National Doctors day I send a thank you to the surgeon general of every nation in the world. I don’t send squat to any doctor that doesn’t hold public office. Think about it. Anyway, we’re exactly one week from Halloween and I’m getting in the spirit. The costume is here, ready and perfect. And what would Halloween be without a bunch of silly cookies in the shapes of pumpkins, witches hats, and ghosts. Truth is, I tried a new recipe for sugar cookies and it wasn’t what I was hoping for. They ended up tasting vaguely of corn, and I ain’t talking candy corn, I’m talking CORN as in Indian maize. When I find a better recipe I will be sure to share. In the meantime, don your frakenstein outfit, your goblings garb or your Scream mask. Take to the streets and trick or treat. Even if it’s not Halloween yet.
